More New Prisoners
My priest has asked me to add 20+ prisoners to our program. These new additions are from a more medium security facility in Tamoka, Fl. All of these men are and have been Orthodox for some time. These men are much more fortunate as they live in open population and the priest serves them the Liturgy every Wednesday and they can receive Communion. I will be sending them a letter of instruction and encouragement about Lent within the next few days. I will begin to add them to the prisoners section, a little bit at a time, starting approximately next week.
Please pray about asking "one more person" from your church, if they would commit to writing letters to the prisoners. If you know of someone let me know so that I can email them an application for the ministry.
Final thought! It would be wonderful if we could organize an effort to send Pascha Greeting cards to all of the prisoners from "all of us individually" what do you think about this idea?

Volunteer Testimonies
Please click on the section for volunteers then click new post. Upload your picture and share your Testimony with us. It is important for all of here to have a special bond. To know the others spiritual strengths. To pray fervently for each other as we seek to do the Lord's work.

Thank You
Thank You for listing all the men and pics. I printed out the list on the side bar and am adding them all to my prayer list.

My Knowledge of Russian
Kristos Voskrese ! However, I do not know how to write this with the cyrillic alphabet? I think, however, that this is the best thing I could say!

Welcome!
Welcome! This site has been created primarily for the Volunteers of St. Seraphim's Fellowship who write letters to the prisoners on the Death Row or serving Life in Prison. This is the place where we can put our heads together, share ideas and prayer requests. Where we can encourage the other volunteers with stories about the communications we have with the men. It is also a place where we can get direction and guidance, either from the other volunteers or from the ministry.
Almost everything you need is here. You can review the official prison guidelines for letter writing or you can see a list of the books recommended for the prisoners. You can see the teaching letters that are sent out to the men and become familiar with what they are studying.
You can also see pictures of the prisoners and learn details of their progress towards Orthodoxy, upcoming events (Baptisms & Crismations, etc) you can also learn of their prayer requests for themselves and their families. Please come here often with your comments and experiences.
INXC,
Seraphim
